Prompting Best Practices
AdPipe’s Video Automation feature allows you to quickly generate multi-scene video assets from your library. Writing clear, structured prompts is the key to ensuring your videos align with your vision, brand identity, and messaging.
An excellent prompt has four components:
Goal + Shot Types + Modifiers + Exclusions
How To Use Feature
Clearly Describe the Product, Service, or Brand Goal
Provide a specific description of what the video should showcase to ensure it aligns with your brand and messaging.
Example: “Create a video to promote diagnostic services for commercial trucks.”
Provide a Specific Shot or Shot Type
Guide the automation with the visual style you want to include.
Example: “Include a close-up of a product label or logo.”
Use Modifiers to Guide the Automation
Add context like target audience, location, or season.
Example: “Appeals to farmers and agricultural workers.”
Specify What to Exclude
Ensure consistency by clarifying what shouldn’t appear.
Example: “Do not include any shots of a person speaking directly to the camera.”

FAQs
Do I always need all four parts in my prompt?
Not necessarily—but the more detailed your prompt, the better the results.
Can I write prompts in a casual style?
Yes, but be sure to include clear direction for goals, shots, modifiers, and exclusions.
What happens if I don’t add exclusions?
The automation may select shots that don’t fully align with your vision. Adding exclusions helps avoid this.
